Recreating the Part Finder experience for mobile.

 

Role: UX Designer

Customer: Automotive customers looking for replacement parts for their vehicle

Challenge: How do we create the desktop experience on mobile and improve both?

 

the challenge

This project involved taking the existing Automotive part finder experience and creating a design to accommodate mobile and tablet customers. The existing experience only could be used on the desktop and limited customers use of the feature when not in front of a computer.

 

the solution

When considering the mobile experience it was important to stay true to the desktop experience in its functionality. There were a few improvements that made moving this experience to a mobile view challenging particularly being able to limit vehicle names with the screen real estate as well as moving the user through adding a vehicle to filter by.

 

documentation

While designing for this project a clear document with detailed interactions and flows was key to successfully outlining the project for stakeholders and developers alike.
